A
new email is circulating around that there are winners in a
lottery from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The email states that you
have been approved to claim a sum of 1,000,000 United States
Dollars in cash.
The email also states that "all participants for the online
version were selected randomly from World Wide Web sites through
computer draw/ballot system and extracted form over 100,000
unions, associations and corporate bodies that are listed online.
This promotion takes place every six months."
Supposedly the million dollars would be released by any of its
payment offices in Europe.
Now here is the clincher: "For security reasons, you are
advised to keep your winning information confidential until your
claim is processed and your money remitted to you. Please be
warned."
If you receive an email like this, throw it away. I have checked
with the sheriff's offices in Naples, Fl. at the time I received
this email. I was informed that it is another way for these crooks
to get into your bank account. The email requests the following:
your name, address, nationality, your occupation and your company.
Delete the email if you happen to open it. |
