Biography |
Cynthia S. Bercowetz |
Cynthia Bercowetz is a graduate of American International College, Springfield, Ma. She attended Trinity College for her MA degree.
She has been a free lance consumer writer for the Manchester Extra, Hartford Courant, Hartford, CT. Previously, she wrote the Get Help! Tell It to George column for the Journal Inquirer for 21 years. Her career started at the Hartford Times where the Dear George column originated.
In addition to her newspaper career, she has hosted consumer radio shows on Connecticut stations.
She produces a weekly television show on public access, Channel Five, Bloomfield, CT.
Her column has received many awards including a national award from the Major Appliance Consumer Action Panel for consumer education to the public.
In 1993, she was named "Woman of the Year'' by the Greater Hartford Business and Professional Women's Club. She also has received awards from the state Better Business Bureaus.
She is a seasoned public speaker and has spoken to many groups on "How to Be A Smart Consumer."
She is married, has three children and six grandchildren. She is married to Herman Bercowetz, former vice president of COPACO Shopping Center, Bloomfield, CT.
